My wife, Ysanne, and I enrolled in training held in Connecticut to become Level 1 Qigong Instructors (see Qigong.com for more information) for stress management, healing, anti-aging, meditation, and breath empowerment (which oxygenates the blood and flushes out blockages within your nervous system). Very exciting! We have also enrolled for the November 2011 training to become Level 2 Qigong Instructors and Qigong Advanced Food Healing Instructors in Orlando, Florida.

Well, after a wonderful week with my wife, Ysanne, in Burlington, Vermont with our guide book, "New England Trips," by Lonely Planet (especially enjoyed the Shelburne Museum), families have settled down with school preparations and thoughts have turned toward the foliage, health and wellness and a fall cleansing after all of the beautiful, warm weather we've had. Hope your summers were all that you wanted them to be with travel, activities, rest, relaxation, healing and recovery. More to come on this site...we will keep you posted!

Well, the roller coaster has stopped. My father, Pasquale J. Giordano, died at the age of 87 on Sunday morning, July 18th, after a very aggressive and fast-moving illness. His obituary can be seen at the Lawler Funeral Home website in West Roxbury, Mass. Your thoughts and prayers are welcomed. Goodbye, Dad ~ Mom's waiting for you....
Spring 2010
Well, the taping of the Talking About Health! show on Dracut Access TV was over before we knew it! Dan and Michael were great hosts asking very poignant questions about natural health care and naturopathic specifically. They both were pleased and said the show went successfully. It is airing in Dracut currently, and a DVD will be made available to me in the next few weeks so that I can offer it as programming to be played at the Public Access TV stations in Foxborough and Methuen. We will post more as it develops!
I spoke to Dan Perkins of Dracut Access TV after our health fair yesterday, and he's invited me to tape a 28 minute show today, Thursday, April 15th, on naturopathic medicine. He said we can share this show with our local TV Access providers in Foxborough and Methuen for airing there as well for those not living in Dracut, MA. Dan also indicated that he and Michael Schleipfer are doing radio and he invited us to be a guest on their radio show. GOOD NEWS! Here is an open letter from the AANP received Monday, March 8th, 2010:
S. 3002, legislation that would dramatically - and unfavorably - impact consumer access to vitamins, herbs and supplements has lost its champion, Senator John McCain (R-AZ). In a letter dated March 4th, Senator Orrin Hatch thanked Senator McCain for withdrawing his support of the original legislation. Senator Hatch will now work with Senator McCain to ensure the 100+ million consumers who use supplements can continue to access safe products and FDA has the resources to remove harmful substances. This is a step towards collaboration that could have truly meaningful impact. Full implementation of DSHEA will benefit consumers greatly and represents a step towards changing the health care system from one rooted in disease to one grounded in wellness.
AANP remains vigilant, however. There are many other Members of Congress who would welcome the kinds of changes this bill would require. As long as this bill is alive, it can in part or in its entirety be considered on the Senate floor. AANP will continue to monitor and alert you on all legislative efforts regarding DSHEA.
