Chiropractic care is the world’s second largest healing profession, and the world’s largest natural healing art.  It focuses on the relationship of structure and neurological aspects of the body in health and disease.  Rejecting the use of drugs and surgery, chiropractic is concerned with human health and focuses on restoring normal anatomical relationships through chiropractic adjustments, physiological therapeutics, rehabilitative procedures, dietary correction and supplementation.  Doctors of Chiropractic are physicians who consider man as an integrated being and give special attention to the physiological and biochemical aspects including structural, spinal, musculoskeletal, neurological, vascular, psychological, nutritional, visceral, emotional and environmental relationships and are trained in diagnosis so they may treat patients effectively and make timely referral to appropriate health care providers.  Core chiropractic principle holds that the relationship between structure and function in the human body is a significant health factor and that such relationships between the spinal column and the nervous system are highly significant because the normal transmission and expression of nerve energy are essential to the restoration and maintenance of health.  The practice of chiropractic recognizes the diversity of factors which impact upon human physiology, including biomechanical dysfunction, genetics, hygiene, microorganisms, nutritional status, exercise, posture, stress, and emotional/psychological status.  Chiropractic training requires a minimum of seven years of academic and clinical training received in and through accredited chiropractic colleges and include, but are not limited to, the use of current diagnostic and therapeutic procedures, the taking of boards and licensure examinations, and focuses on the basic and clinical sciences needed by the primary care physician.  The practice of Chiropractic is licensed in all 50 states in America, in all Canadian provinces, and over 50 foreign countries.  It is eligible for reimbursement by most major insurance companies, including Blue Cross/Blue Shield, Medicare, and most major insurance companies.  Dr. Giordano is a member of both our major national organization, the American Chiropractic Association (ACA), and our local organization, the Massachusetts Chiropractic Society (MCS). Founded by D.D. Palmer in 1895, Chiropractic has grown steadily over the past century and has mainstream acceptance ~ treating effectively, and naturally.
